Chaoran Cheng is the 5th year Ph.D. candidate at CS department of NJIT. Her research is focused on NLP applications. She is passionate about applying Machine Learning/Deep Learning techniques to Natural Language Processing/Social Media Mining field. She has extensive and excellent hands-on experience with crawling, exploring and analyzing text data, building, optimizing and evaluating models.
Hai Phan is an Assistant Professor at the Ying Wu College of Computing, New Jersey Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science, awarded in 2013 by the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) - University Montpellier 2 (UM2). His topics of interest primarily focus on data science, machine learning, deep learning, and privacy and security, especially for health informatics, social network analysis, and spatio-temporal data mining. His contributions have been published in at least 36 publications at leading and top-tier venues, such as IJCAI, AAAI, ICDM, ACM Multimedia, Machine Learning Journal, ACM CIKM, IEEE Intelligent Systems, etc. Several of them have been selected as best papers, e.g., ICDM’17, ACM BCB’15, ASONAM’15, etc.
Xiaoyuan Liang is currently a Ph.D. student at the Computer Science Department at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He received his B.S. in Computer Science and Technology from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in June 2013. His research interests include deep learning and intelligent transportation systems.
